DC Payments Becomes New ATM Vendor for Supermarket Giant Morrisons

Woman shopping at the supermarketAt a stroke, DC Payments has substantially increased its UK business after securing a “big win” contract to take over ATMs in one of Britain’s biggest supermarket chains.

During February and March, 237 cash machines were deployed by DC Payments at almost half of the stores operated by retailing giant Morrisons.

Because the core of our business is providing ATM services to UK retailers, DC Payments offered Morrisons an advantage our competitors could not: excellence in ATM service — from the machines’ clean, well-maintained physical appearance to the use of DC Payments’ in-house maintenance operation.

“We are stepping in where the banks are stepping out”, says David Collings, UK Sales Director for DC Payments. “We can offer Morrisons a better quality of service, better response and better all-round customer service.”

DC Payments manages ATMs better than anyone else, Collings adds, by ensuring uptime is maintained and providing enhanced service. Cash flows are more frequent, so machines never run out of money.

More than managing

During the transition, DC Payments focused on bringing Morrison’s ATMs up to DC Payments’ quality standard. That standard, says Collings, meant “bringing excellence to the ATM service, rather than just managing it. That’s one of our key strengths.”

Although DC Payments is not Morrisons’ sole ATM provider, our ATMs make up the largest share of cash machines in Morrisons stores.

Yorkshire-based Morrisons is more than 100 years old, employs 125,000, and has 12 million customers in and out of its doors every week — in addition to a bustling online business.

“It adds another blue chip retailer to our portfolio”, says Collings. “Retail has always been one of our strongest areas, and we’re happy to be able to associate ourselves with another key brand in the sector.”

Collings also points out the compatible fit between DC Payments’ and Morrisons’ strengths and objectives. “We’re well equipped to serve Morrisons’ multiple channels while providing the high level of quality that Morrisons’ customers expect.”

The Morrisons agreement is good news for DC Payments’ retail customers, too, showing that DC Payments is a business they can have confidence in — that they are working with the best.
