Demonstrating How to Add Value
Every year, DC Payments goes on the road to meet and greet both existing and potential customers — and 2015 has been no exception.
This year, we attended no less than six major industry-related events at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre (NEC).
Most recently, we were among the 300 exhibitors at the Rural Entrepreneur Live show at NEC, answering questions and demonstrating the latest ATM technology.
The two-day event brings people who run all manner of businesses in rural and coastal locations together, including seasonal enterprises like family farm shops, country houses and restaurants, and holiday parks.
The event is actually made up of three shows all under one roof — Farm and Business Innovation, Country House, and Holiday Park & Resort — so it was a great opportunity to meet a variety of entrepreneurs.
For our visitors, we had a Triton Argo ATM on display, as well as our specialist note-checking machine. This latter scanning device attracted a good deal of attention from many visitors. It enables ATM operators to comply with Bank of England regulations requiring them to check for counterfeit notes used in self-fill machines.
Confidence
End users have the confidence of knowing the money they withdraw has already been pre-checked for forgery, while adding value to the service provided by the retailer or other operator.
On the lighter side, we had a golf-putting contest at our stand, where visitors could try their luck at successfully putting five balls into the hole. The names of those who managed to ace all five were entered into a drawing to win a Kindle Fire tablet.
Then, we rounded off the month as the only ATM provider at Retail Best, a semi-private, informal forum held at the Champneys Spa Hotel in Bath. Attendees included present and potential outlet operators of the wholesale cash and carry group Bestway.
Bestway now has more than 60 independent or franchised outlets supplying its wholesale products to retailers and others, so this was an another chance for DC Payments to line up alongside product suppliers and retailers for an opportunity to again show how ATMs can add value to customer service. The event helped us generate new enquiries and useful contacts for the DC Payments sales team.
From a distance, some of these exhibitions and events may look like a lot of fun — and they are — but there’s a serious side in demonstrating what we do and why we believe we’re the best at doing it.
We look forward to meeting you in 2016!
